This Thursday (August 13, 2020), I will start my "Faux Camino" - a 480+ mile walk where I act as if I am doing the full Camino de Santiago pilgrimage from St- Jean-Pied-de-Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain (maybe even going the extra miles to explore the coast in Finisterre and ending in Muxia).

I have been wanting to do this Pilgrimage for years and was set to do it this September,  2020 and then...well you know what happened.

Each day, I will plan a route that mirrors the daily distance outlined in my "Village to village guide" written by Anna Dintaman and David Landis, 5th edition in 2018.

Before starting to walk each day, I will review the area in the guide that corresponds to what I would have encountered on the real pilgrimage and then drive to the starting point of the day's walk. When I take breaks, I will browse the Camino 360 app: http://caminosantiago360.com/ on my phone and pretend to be on the real trail with stops on the way.

My goal is to find paths in the Seattle area that inspire me to discover new sights (and insights) and think differently about old ones (of both kinds) in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Daily posts will show where I have been (thanks to the Strava app: https://www.strava.com/), what I have learned, and probably, how much my feet hurt.

I have 40 days until my Fall quarter of school begins so I have committed to finish by then.  We will see...

So, please come along and enjoy the ride (or should I say walk) if you like. I have added family and friends to the private subscription list but you are most welcome to unsubscribe with no questions asked at any time.

Buen Camino 🙏

P.S. I DO realize I'm calling myself a MOFO 😁
